Candle Making Date

Candles are something we use on the weekly (or the daily if you're in my house). Therefore, they are the perfect think to craft for your next date night. Think about it, you get to have fun making it together and then you get to see it every day, and maybe even use it on future date nights.

There are many different ways to make candles but I will cover the pre-made kits and my personal candle making method.

My Way

Supplies:

• Glass jar or bowl (I like to get mine at the thrift store)

• Either wax cubes (if you want an aroma) or dollar tree candles

• Candle wicks

• Hot glue gun/sticks

• Paper bowl or cups (if using wax cubes)

• Large pot for boiling water (if using candles)

1. Glue your wicks to the inside of your jar or bowl

2. If using wax cubes, put them into either a paper bowl or cup and place them in the microwave until melted. If using candles, put them into the pot, pour water around them, and bring it to a boil or until melted.

3. Carefully pour the melted wax into your jar or bowl

4. Let it sit for a couple of hours (Don't put it into the fridge, it may crack)

When I make the candles myself, I like to find uniquely shaped glassware or wood to turn into a candle, just to make it a little extra special.

While you are waiting for your candles to harden, enjoy some snacks and answer some questions together. I have some examples for you (take turns picking):
