Happy New Years! I'm sure many of you are setting new goals and resolutions for yourselves. Maybe you want to get in better shape. Maybe you want to spend more time with your significant other. Maybe you want to try something new. Goals are important; they keep us motivated and help us grow into even better people.

This date idea is a fun way to maybe help you accomplish some of those goals. You learn to trust each other and laugh at each other all while working out your body.

While you can definitely take an in-person class for this, it is not possible for everyone. Maybe it's too expensive, you live in a small town like me without classes, or you don't feel comfortable leaving your home or working out in front of other people. That's where YouTube comes in. There are so many free classes on her just waiting for you to try!

Supplies:

A yoga mat (or carpet)

A tv or computer that has access to YouTube

Candles (optional)

Workout clothes

Set up your yoga mat in front of your screen. Make sure there is enough room around you. The last thing we need is someone falling into a table or smashing a glass vase accidentally.

You can light candles if you want to get that whole spa and relaxation vibe but it is no required.

*Friendly tip: make sure you and your significant partner's feet are clean. You are going to be getting pretty close together and it is no fun to smell stinky feet right in your face.

I have researched and tried out some YouTube videos for you. There are mixes of different skill and time. You can combine classes, cut them short, or skip poses all together. It is whatever you feel the most comfortable doing.

Videos:

20 minute PARTNER YOGA | Acro Yoga Routine for *all levels, ages, & sizes*

Partner Yoga Stretch for ALL levels, ages & sizes (beginners, couples & kids too!)

Kid-Friendly Partner Yoga Poses

PARTNER YOGA | Gentle & fun for all levels.. Ashley Freeman + Xavier Rudd

PLAYFUL PARTNER YOGA | 25 MIN | SALA YOGA & IDA MAY

One of the best things about this date is the flexibility (pun intended). You can incorporate this date into a morning routine, have a late night date with kids at home, in the park on a nice sunny day, or as a totally last minute date. It is so much fun and is a great bonding experience between the two of you. You can finish off the date with some healthy smoothies or reward yourself with some ice cream; do whatever feels right for you two.

I hope you have a fantastic new year and an even better date!
