The Office Olympics Date

The Office is one of my favorite shows ever. I know I'm not very unique by saying that but it's true. One of my favorite episodes is the one where they hold "The 1st Dunder-Mifflin Office Olympics". That episode has inspired many workplaces to hold their own olympics and was the inspiration for this date.

You will of course want to start your date with the opening ceremonies. For this, you will need a candle, a lighter, and someone willing to give a cheesy, but heartfelt speech about the games.

The events at your olympics could include:

Hateball - Basically just paper football. Whoever can make 5 field goals wins.

Dunderball - Find an empty wall where nothing could get broken by a loose ball. Stand up a poster board between the two of you. Lay down and throw the ball onto the wall, bouncing off to the person sitting on the other side of the poster. Throw back and forth until either you or your opponent miss the ball. If you miss the ball, you get a letter. First one to spell the word ANNEX loses.

Flonkerton - You are going to either need big books you don't mind stepping on, multiple pieces of wood boards the same length, or a couple boxes of printer paper to tie to your feet. Determine a starting line and a finish line and race to the end.

Who Can Put The Most M&Ms In Their Mouth - Pretty explanatory name. Put M&Ms into your mouth one by one until you can't eat any more. The one with the most wins. Please don't overdo this because it does have a choking hazard.

Guess the Quote - Just follow the video here. If you try for the two points, you have to put your paper down before the multiple choice questions appear. Person with the most points wins. If there happens to be a tie, follow this video here. Person with the most points wins.

Coffee Mug Relay - Find to coffee mugs, relatively the same size. Fill them up with warm, but not hot, water. Determine the track you will be racing. First lap is just with the warm water. The second lap is pouring in the hot chocolate mix. The third lap is stirring the mix with the water. Who finishes first wins.

As you enjoy your hot chocolate, finish off with the closing ceremonies by handing out medals and by paying tribute to the episode that inspired your date. Watch "The Office" season 2, episode 3, "Office Olympics", with some popcorn.

I hope you have a wonderful day and an even better date!
